This is a lovely protypical west coast IPA. Strong hop aroma and taste but it doesn’t overdo it. Easy to drink. nice orange/amber color.

12 oz can. Pours a translucent copper color with a big clumpy off-white head that has good retention. The aroma is fairly strong with layered citrus; I get grapefruit, oranges and persimmons. The flavor features a good deal of the same citrus detected in the nose, add to that a sweet caramel malt base that sometimes comes across as cotton candy-like. Palate is crisp with lively carbonation. Finishes medium in duration and dry. Overall: First rate IPA.

This beer pours a beautiful amber, orange with an off white foamy head. The citrus and pine are very present along with a hint of floral to the nose. Taste was exceptional with the malts doing an excellent job of balancing the hoppy character of this brew. I had never heard of Caldera until my journey into Two Stones Pub for dinner. I really enjoyed this one and will be looking into putting it on tap. Overall an excellent choice.

Poured from the can, amazing fresh aroma of citrus, and grapefruit. Flavor is also very fresh! This is what a ipa should be! The can made me think I was going to be drinking some kind of energy drink. But really good!
4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 dlbrockmiller (13) - Oregon, USA - JAN 20, 2012
Popped the top and was greeted with the most wonderful pineapple/grapefruit smell. It poured a bright clear amber color. The taste was even better than the smell, pineapple grapefruit caramel pine in a can. Thought it had great depth and balance, really good beer and will definitely buy again!

(Canned) Pours orange amber with a pale sand coloured head. The aroma holds a nice hop blend of passion fruit ice cream and more typical grapefruity and pine-like notes. Undertones of mango, tea and resin. Malt brings dry toffee and light cookie notes. I like the aroma profile - a mix of bright fruity and “darker” tea-like tones. The flavour is light sweet, near medium bitter and tiny acidic on the finish (from the hops). Typical citric, resinous, piny and light fruity alongside a rather dry cookie and nutty malt profile. The mouthfeel is clean and soft with a light carbonation. Finishes with soapy hops and a light oxidized cardboard touch. Near medium bodied.

Can at home (love the bright coloured art on the can!). Pours a hazy orange-amber colour, foamy white head. Aromas of orangey fruitiness, touch of honey. Lovely, honey-butterscotch flavour with bright citrus hops and bold hops. Balanced carbonation, terrific beer!

It poured a hazey/orange color with a light tan head. The aroma was of citrus, fruits, pine, and some sweet fruity malts. The taste was a little on the hoppy side, dry and fruity. A good IPA.

UPDATED: JAN 1, 2012 Can. Pours medium gold with a pretty aggressive head. This is a killer ipa. Smells of hops and citrus (grapefruit). Some fruity notes included. Taste is lightly bitter with some sweetness. Interesting brew that I hadn’t seen prior. Glad I bought a case.
