Kettle Series. This beer gets its name from the Hopunion Hop Hash nuggets - pure hop lupulin extracted and scraped from the Hopunion pelletizing line, then boiled for 90 minutes in the kettle. According to the brewer, this has never been done before! Premium 2-row, Great Western Munich, Crisp 60L and rolled oats comprise the grain bill designed to carry this load. Fermented warm using American Ale yeast to bring out the fruitiness, the resulting beer is designed to be a surprise on all fronts. Even the brewer has no idea how hoppy it’ll be.

Bomber from BOTW (Rochester), served at cellar temperature in a tulip glass.

App.: Clear copper with a fluffy light tan head. Aroma: Quite sweet and malty with some peppery rye-like notes, dark rye bread crust, zingy pine/resin/eucalyptus, a bit dank (power of suggestion??). Palate: Medium body, relaxed carbonation. Flav.: Like the nose, there is a strong, peppery, rye bread crust presence with a dank/resinous hop flavour, a bit of caramel and toffee, possibly a slight metallic note; dry with moderate+ bitterness and a bread crust/resin finish.

Interesting, especially after reading the label...

Tap at Imazato. Orange-amber, shiny, lacy. Nose of pine resin, grass, mint, caramel. Big and rich, very grassy, piny, minty, with full, heavy caramel. Not my thing, though not bad.

Pours a half finger of head on an amber body. The aroma is caramel and grapefruit, but pretty faint overall. The taste is full of caramel with some danky lemon and pine. The texture is crisp with soft edges. An enjoyable brew.

Bottle. Thanks to Fonefan. Aroma is herbs with some malts and some floral hints. Taste is caramel malts with pines. Aftertaste is very well balanced between malts and hops. Nice and unique it would have been even better if fresh.

Bottle at Borefts. Clear amber. Hoppy some American malt. A little less than fresh. Too much caramel malt not enough hop

22oz bottle - Aroma - floral hops, caramel malts, some tropical fruit notes Appearance - copper body, 2-finger light tan head, above average retention, light lacing Mouthfeel - medium bodied, medium carbonation Flavor - light fruity notes, heavy bitterness but ragged. Overall - Kinda like trying a super-super hot hot sauce. Yeah it’s hot but lacks flavor. This is bitter, but it lacks character. Not bad.
