Kettle Series. This beer gets its name from the Hopunion Hop Hash nuggets - pure hop lupulin extracted and scraped from the Hopunion pelletizing line, then boiled for 90 minutes in the kettle. According to the brewer, this has never been done before! Premium 2-row, Great Western Munich, Crisp 60L and rolled oats comprise the grain bill designed to carry this load. Fermented warm using American Ale yeast to bring out the fruitiness, the resulting beer is designed to be a surprise on all fronts. Even the brewer has no idea how hoppy it’ll be.

Deep amber beer, big pale cream colour head. Palate is airy and crisp, semi dry. Mild minerals. Malts provide mild sweetness to balance the bitter hops. Mild caramel and very mild cream. Noble tasting hops, big floral bitterness with a touch of grassy harshness. Trace of citrus. Crispy dry finish, mild citric linger. Mmmmm - comes over like an Imperial English Bitter. Tasty but a bitter bastard.

UPDATED: AUG 31, 2014 On tap at Caldera brewery in Ashland, OR. Aroma was initially dishwater-like, but then quickly turned to pungent hoppiness. Stingingly bitter taste made the mouthfeel hard to discern. Taste was too bitter, though I could tell that there was a decent malt backbone somewhere in there. I kind of made it sound bad, but it was a decent IPA. I do prefer the sweetness of a DIPA though.

Had this at the restaurant in Ashland. The aroma had a dank smell to it at first, but the first sip wiped all that away! Taste was hoppy, sharp and in your face. Just how an IPA should be!

65 cl bottle.
Pours clear golden-copper color with a medium sized head. Nice floral and herbal aroma, hops, some Sima-like notes and lemon. Grassy and hoppy flavor, lemon, gooseberries and some. Nice and mellow IPA. Feels good, man.

65 cl bottle @ olio
Aroma is rather sweet with sugary tones and fruity hops. Also some weird dough and toffee notes. Flavour has toffee, some gooseberry bush, grapefruit and hints of caramel. Feels British. A musty disappointment and does not feel as hoppy as I thought.

650 ml bottle. Pours a copper amber colour with a small white head. Aroma is rather spicy with herbal notes, weed and citrus. Flavour of rich herbal bitterness, weed, spiciness, pine, some malts, pineapple and some lemon. Medium bodied and soft mouthfeel. Very long, lingering bitter, herbal finish. Really nice hop profile here.
