COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Kettle Series. This beer gets its name from the Hopunion Hop Hash nuggets - pure hop lupulin extracted and scraped from the Hopunion pelletizing line, then boiled for 90 minutes in the kettle. According to the brewer, this has never been done before! Premium 2-row, Great Western Munich, Crisp 60L and rolled oats comprise the grain bill designed to carry this load. Fermented warm using American Ale yeast to bring out the fruitiness, the resulting beer is designed to be a surprise on all fronts. Even the brewer has no idea how hoppy itíll be.

This is a pretty good IPA. Not as pungent on the schnoz or as "punchy" on the hop backend, but I had no complaints. Interesting brewing process, as describe in the descriptor. Iíd like to let the brewer know that itís got a decent hop presence, as it appears he was unaware of how hoppy itíll be. I liked it. Would do business with again. A+++

Countbeer (4974) - Best of E-Town mit ein Brauhaus, NETHERLANDS - MAR 22, 2015
Bomber: Served in a shaker at 13 degrees Celsius: Medium sized thick sticky creamy head. Light cloudy amber copper orange colored beer. Aroma and flavour are marked by a very nice herbal hop tone, which sets the tone and friendly dominates. Of course the bitters can not be missed together with a light hop fruity and hop flower undertone. Aftertaste is bitter, herbal, hoppy and grassy. Low carbo, creamy light hopper tingling mouthfeel and medium bodied. Nice stuff, good herbal IPA!

Bottle. Dark golden, average ro large and mostly diminishing head. Moderate, malty and sweetish aroma, some caramel and some floral - tropical fruitiness, some grapefruit - light piney hoppyness. Body is medium, malty and sweetish flavor, some caramel and some floral - tropical fruitiness and some grapefruit - piney hoppyness. Finish is average, malty and lightly sweetish with some caramel and light fruitiness, piney - herbal hoppyness, faint alcohol. OK IPA - could be drier with less caramel. In the finish bitterness get slightly sharp/too herbal considering the body of the beer.

probstblueribbon (3182) - Nepean, Ontario, CANADA - JAN 9, 2015
Bomber from BOTW (Rochester), served at cellar temperature in a tulip glass.

App.: Clear copper with a fluffy light tan head. Aroma: Quite sweet and malty with some peppery rye-like notes, dark rye bread crust, zingy pine/resin/eucalyptus, a bit dank (power of suggestion??). Palate: Medium body, relaxed carbonation. Flav.: Like the nose, there is a strong, peppery, rye bread crust presence with a dank/resinous hop flavour, a bit of caramel and toffee, possibly a slight metallic note; dry with moderate+ bitterness and a bread crust/resin finish.

Interesting, especially after reading the label...

Tap at Imazato. Orange-amber, shiny, lacy. Nose of pine resin, grass, mint, caramel. Big and rich, very grassy, piny, minty, with full, heavy caramel. Not my thing, though not bad.

Bottle. Thanks to Fonefan. Aroma is herbs with some malts and some floral hints. Taste is caramel malts with pines. Aftertaste is very well balanced between malts and hops. Nice and unique it would have been even better if fresh.
