COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This beer gets its name from the Hopunion Hop Hash nuggets - pure hop lupulin extracted and scraped from the Hopunion pelletizing line, then boiled for 90 minutes in the kettle. According to the brewer, this has never been done before! Premium 2-row, Great Western Munich, Crisp 60L and rolled oats comprise the grain bill designed to carry this load. Fermented warm using American Ale yeast to bring out the fruitiness, the resulting beer is designed to be a surprise on all fronts. Even the brewer has no idea how hoppy it’ll be.

Bottle @ 2nd Tuesday Tasting. Pours a clear amber beer with a small off white head on top. Aroma is very citric, grassy, fresh hops with a touch of malt in the back. Flavor is quite bitter, hoppy, loads of citric influences and again the malty background. Nice in balance, great drinkability. Long bitter aftertaste. Very nice.

Nice copper coloured body and a small tan head. Slightly hoppy aroma with some sweet tones. Well rounded taste, below average bitterness. Soft mouthfeel, slight carbonation. A bit soft for an IPA but not too bad.

On tap at The Pine Box. Clear amber pour with a white head. Big piney hop notes. Aroma follows suit. Huge caramel malt backbone. Resin and honey lowlights. Average body and mouthfeel.

Bomber. Mostly clear medium copper, foamy off-white head settles and lasts. Aroma of dank earthy hop and c-malt. Rough bitter resinous hoppy taste, caramel malty, dirty and earthy. Average carbonation, medium-full bodied, more aggressively hopped. Not so pleasant, yet still drinkable. DNFL (Definitely Not For Lagerboys)

650 ml. Clear orange-copper with a lasting film of bubbles. Nose is big with pineapple, mango and caramel with a touch of resin. Tastes of orange caramel, woody resin, papaya and a touch of minty-tart apple. Near-medium body is smooth with a soft, medium carbonation and has an excellent balance. Nice taste and an easy drinker.

Not floral at all. Not my kind of IPA. I should have known better when it said "a twist on the American style pale ale".

Bottle to IPA glass Grapefruit, chlorine, malt, and light tropical fruit. Pours a clear reddish amber with a thick, long lasting 2 cm frothy and creamy head that only reduces to 1 cm after about 10 minutes. Taste is primarily hoppy bitterness, with a slight fruitiness but not much else going on. This is bitter just for the sake of being bitter.
