Bomber from K&L. Pours a bright clear yeller color with a one-finger-plus white head that has good retention for the style. The aroma is corny and grassy, like a mowed lawn oddly enough. Grainy pale malt is big with this one. The flavor is like a better version of BMC. Really grainy pale malt, probably some adjunk, and just not enough flavor overall. Slight hop notes. Clean and crisp on the palate with medium-high carbonation. Only slight wateriness. This is good for the style, sure, but I just can’t say I’m really a big fan overall. I think this style is somewhat of a joke, and this just doesn’t measure up to a great pilsner or helles lager.

UPDATED: OCT 15, 2010 22oz. Pours a very clear light golden with white thin head that has good retention. Aroma is mostly corn and/or grass like. Very thin grainy flavor, not as much notes of corn/grass as I expected to be there. Low carbonation, thin body, slick texture.

Bottle: Clear yellow with an average white head. The nose is toasty with a light touch of hops. The flavor has a fairly malty body with a nice dose of diacetyl which might seem a little bad, but it adds to the otherwise thin flavor and body. Not bad! Finishes clean, nice lager.

Golden yellow, white foam. Aroma is light corn, a touch of metal, vanilla sweetness. Taste is more sweet, light vanilla, a bit of corn, but otherwise pleasant.

Bomber from Malt & Vine. Pours light gold with a foamy white head. Aroma is slightly bready and mildly grassy. Medium body with moderate carbonation. Flavor is light malt, with a little (very little) spicy hop. There’s a bit of paper when the liquid flows away, but it is decently bitter. Spiceily so? Tettnang? Definitely drinkable.

Had a bomber of this a few weeks ago and just ran across my tasting notes. Pours a clear light straw body with a small white head that quickly falls into some sparse spotty lace. Aroma has some floral hops and crackery malt. Light bodied with a spritzy carbonation. Taste has some light pilsner type malts and a subtle floral hops bitterness. Inoffensive, but not much here to interest.

Pale straw, fizzy white head. Looks the part. Pale grassy aroma, nearly absent, little noble zing? Either this beer has a fruity edge or it is too thin to wash out the starburst candy i ate a couple hours ago. Either way, good times. Very light, very clean, nice dry finish.

Bomber. Wow about the palest pale I ever did see, with a small creamy head. Nose is butter, dried grass, light citrus, and touches of honey-coated corn. Initial taste is buttered popcorn and a hint of shrimp. Later tastes of honey, butter, and dried lemon grass. Light body is drinkable and a tad bit astringent. Several folks in my area really have been arrested for DUI on a lawnmower this summer, but I sure couldn’t recommend this one to them over a Duff beer. I don’t struggle through many beers, but this one really tested my limits.

Smells of a sweetness and nuts. Thin mouthfeel. No hops really present. Very drinkable, might get too sweet after awhile though. Tastes how it smells.

22oz bottle, purchased at Harry and David’s Medford. Pours a clear, pale straw color; effervescent; small-bubbled white head with decent retention and lacing, glistening. A lightly honeyed malt character in the nose, with a moderate grassy and mineral hop character; nicely balanced and crisp; clean fermentation; a pretty engaging, solid expression of its ingredients. Medium-light body; lively carbonation; just a touch of a carbonic bite; very engaging, hugely drinkable feel in the mouth; possible hints of appropriately placed DMS/acetaldehyde notes, but very light; modest, crisp, toasty maltiness (lightly honeyed, light sugar), along with that grassy, mineral hop note; relatively clean, quite enjoyable pale lager; hugely drinkable and that grassiness almost suggests dry-hopping. Nicely toasty, dry finish: crisp, very toasty, very mild mineral bitterness at the far end.
