Pours a very dark brown that’s also very thick, and has a smallish head. Good mix of roastedness with a hint of chocolate. Fairly easy on the palate, thought it’s a tad harsh at the end.

Draught at Baileys Taproom, Portland as "Caldera Old Growth" (8,8%)
Aroma is really nice with roasted malt, coffee and chocolate.Flavour is dry with roasted malt, coffee, chocolate and somewhat salty licorice. Smooth and very creamy palate that becomes sticky after some sips. The coffee notes get stronger towards the dry finish. A masterpiece, reminds me of Nøgne Ø Imperial Stout.

Bottle. Pours a dark dark brown. Head is tan and dense. Aroma of spicy licorice, coffee grinds, chocolate malt, smoked dark fruit. Taste is very boozey with chocolate, bitter hops present. Decent stout from Caldera. I think this beer would be perfect if laid down for a year or two. Might take away the hotness of the alchohol. Worth trying though.

Bottle:   Black, large frothy light brown head, fairly nice lacing.   Old growth is right, piney aroma, soft graham cracker and roasted malts.   Even tho is been a year, or more... I still get some alcohol on the nose.   On the tongue its malty, definite warming, graham cracker, with some green raisin and acrid roastiness as well as a smidgen of coffee grinds.   My bottle indicates its 8.8%... Hmmm...   Body and mouthfeel are moderate to full.   Finishes a little dry, some cocoa, amidst the pine (tree like), roasted malts, acrid coffee grinds, and graham cracker.   Pretty solid, and certianly hefty.
