Picked this up at the tap house in Ashland. It came in a quart jar filled from the tap. I drank it the next day. Minimal head on a clearer brown body. It’s a light color for a stout. It smells like oak and caramel. Rich. The taste is oaky and sweet with a touch of bitterness at the end. Smooth texture with minimal carbonation and a medium body. Pretty good and very drinkable for an imperial stout.

Bottle @ ZZT X, small sample, thanks all for sharing! Dark color, short head. Aroma of roasted malts, chocolate, licorice. Bit sweet, but mostly malty bitterness in taste. Good beer, but a bit one-dimensional on the roast and licorice.

Bottle @ ZZT X, courtesey of Caesar. Pours a pitch black beer with a small, quickly fading tanned head on top. Aroma of licorice, laurel, molasses. Flavor is very bitter, loads of coffee in there, aftertaste is bittersweet coffee. Nicely bitter flavors going on. Good stuff.

Bomber. Old. Black. Tan head. Smells like powdered cocoa mixed with instant coffee. Taste is semi sweet and lightly bitter. Flavors of smooth, creamy black cock sauce with chocolate milkshake and Hershey’s syrup. But not that sweet. Lots of man protein. Good. I like.

So very, very black. Initial taste is a bit sticky, with burnt caramel and pepper. A strong, half piney, half coffee bitterness asserts itself quickly, and the whole shebang parties on your tongue for about ten minutes.

missed this rate. This is a good classic chewy imperial stout. Solid in every aspect, though not a favorite in any. Not through any fault of it’s own, I’ve just had some bad arse impy stouts. you definitely get some oak and licorice in the nose and flavor, as well as some roast, cocoa and light coffee. Chewy and slick feel. Warming.
