2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 tiggmtl (4475) - Vancouver, - NOV 24, 2011
I don’t get rose from this so much as pepper. There is a floral component to the flavour but black pepper dominates the nose and especially the flavour. Quite dry. Medium light body. Clear deep golden with shy large bubbled head. This one just isn’t working for me. Tulip glass. Just above fridge temperature. Bottle.

Bottle from Midtown. Pours a hazy golden with a white head. Intense perfumy roma of rose petals, but reminds me of Russian Sage. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Flavor honey malts, wheat, and lots and lots of rose petals- which I can only describe as a mix of sage, peppercorns, and lavender. Definitely unique, and I can see this as a love hate beer. I love it.

They are not lying about the rose petal. This beer smells like a rose and has the spicy/floral mix of rose water. pours a yellowy orange. for a beer that is 6.7 it tastes really light and watery and the spice profile lingers almost pepper like.

Interesting. A definite "rose flavor and smell". I give Caldera credit for being creative. Not my favorite.

Bottle:   Dull golden, hazy, moderate white head, white and frothy, fairly nice lacing.   Strong Rosehip and pink peppercorn aroma.   Yep, same combo on the tongue.   It actually works.   Not real bright, but the floral and peppery nature of the beer is really interesting.   I kinda like this, more than I thought.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Really smooth.   Long lingering Rosehip and pink peppercorn flavors.   I think this one works really well!

Picked up a bottle at Abe’s Cold Beer in Bethlehem, PA. Pours a hazy orange-yellow. The aroma is light malt with overtones of flowers. The taste is more of the same. It starts with light pilsner type malt flavor and ends with a heavy floral bitterness that lingers after the beer is over. Interesting. It reminds me of tea. Unfortunately not my particular cup...
