4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Decent malty brew. Served with a nice sized, light tan head that slowly settled and a bit o’ lace. Color is a clear, dark cherry brown. Aroma is roast, malt, fruit. Flavor’s like nose, plus nutmeats. Body is superb and ditto carbonation. Finish is like flavor, not that long, but exceedingly drinkable. Killer brew!

Bottle at sampling session. From notes (Oct. 8, 2011). Big milk chocolate, citrus, and spice nose. Pretty dark red color. Caramel and chocolate, with more spiciness. Soft, thick palate. Pleasant enough, but very sweet.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
22 oz. bottle shared by Bunker. Pours a deep reddish brown amber color with a small disappearing off white head. The aroma is sweet caramel, candi sugar, dark ripe fruits that favor the blood oranges with a light herbal note. The flavor has some caramel and fruity orange citrus, but adds more herbal and earthy notes toward the finish. Not as thick as I would have guessed from the nose.

2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Bottle. Pours a very dark brown with very little head. Nose is a little sweet with some maltiness underneath. Taste is a little too sweet for my taste - almost with some caramel in there. It’s weird...

3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
I poured a dark hazelnut brown brew with tan foam. It smells heavily of caramel, chocolate and oranges. The flavor is bittersweet, caramelly for sure, toasty. It’s full flavored with a medium mouthfeel which holds up fairly well. It’s almost like a double IPA, but hopped well below. This alcohol is not overbearing and it’s just a bit syrupy. Delicious brew.
