3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Appearance: dark brown pour, caramel colored edges, short and creamy light tan head quickly fading, reinvigorated with the occasional swirl. Aroma: big nose of chocolate, vanilla, caramel, bourbon and/or rum. Taste: very sweet, with dark and milk chocolate, a hint of espresso, crème anglaise, sticky toffee pudding, and a boozy undertone. Finish: lingering chocolate sweetness grows stronger, as does a faint woody note to compliment the bourbon; palate was lighter than expected. Notes: A little more sweet and a little less roasty than I prefer in the style, and the palate could have used a tad more heft. That said, this was quite excellent.

4.9 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
Bomber into a pint glass. Pours a very dark brown, almost black. Medium tan head which quickly fades, leaving fair lacing. Nose is chocolate and dark malt. Taste follows the nose, with an unexpected sweetness. Tast is rich, complex, and matures as the beer warms. Mouth feel is creamy, but the finish is short, and leaves you wanting more. Delicious.

Carbonation was a bit off. This is still a great porter. Would recommend to anyone.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Chocolate brown with a few, quickly disappearing tan bubbles. It smells like milk chocolate and bourbon. It’s deliciously sweet and roasty with just a hint of alcohol warmth. It’s on the lighter side of full mouthfeel. Finishes bittersweet. What a delicious brown brew! A sweet tribute.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Pours a hazy dark brown with a creamy light brown head that dissipates to the edges and laces slightly. Aroma has lots of sweet chocolate with a bit of marshmallow, some sweet bourbon and a touch of roasted malts. Flavor has a sweet chocolate and marshmallow combination backed by bourbon and dark grains.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle aged 1yr. Pours dark with a defined off white cream colored foam head. The aroma is chocolate filled, subtle bourbon, oak, sweet dark malts, vanilla, sugar sweetner, and lactose. In the flavor I picked on vanilla, soft bitterness, mild booze, minor bourbon, creamy lactose like taste, with a malty and chocolatey backbone. The finish is very smooth, drinkable, and had nice sweet notes. Overall this is a very good brew. I’d have this one again.
