Smells of vanilla, pours dark, tastes of roasts and vanilla don’t taste chocolate flavors, solid beer but wouldn’t make a regular.

Sampled at Clockwork’s 4K/5K/10K gathering 2013. Bottle pours a deep brown with white lacing. Aroma is coffee and roast - pretty straightforward, but good. Mouthfeel is medium with notes of coffee and fruit. Nice!

Pours dark with a ring of tan foam. Aroma is cocoa, licorice, and chocolate malt. Taste is the same but dry and bitter. Not much barrel flavor. There is a pleasant cocoa taste. Not bad but far from great.

Sample from tap at the Growler Guys, Bend, 23/05/13. Very dark mahogony brown with a decent sized tan head, Nose is chocolate, sweet sugars, roast malt. Taste comprises light wood, bitter chocolate, roast malt, biscuit, sugars. Medium bodied with bte, fine carbonation, bitter roast in a sweet finish. Ok fayre - could do with the sweetness tempering a little as comes across as a doube digit imperial in this respect.

Bottle thanks to Jeff. Aroma is super sweet with vanilla bean up front and a subtle chocolate. Pours deep brown with white lacing and a fizzy head. Taste is very sweet with roasted vanilla being prevalent but leaving room for a coffee-chocolate taste as well. Reminds me of Evil Twin Soft Dookie but better. Like it.

Bottle brought by JRedmond at 5K/10K/4K tasting. Pours black with tan head. Nose and taste of roast chocolate malt, vanilla extract, wood and sweet chocolate. Lots of vanilla extract - but in a good way. Medium body.

Bottles from Frank Smith’s and Whole Foods Plymouth Meeting. Pours thick, rich, black with off-tan head. Nose is roasty dark malt, cacao, mild oak and bourbon. The oaky bourbon melds well with the cacao flavor in this, the palate is dense enough to match a 45 minute Oliva Series V Maduro cigar, and the finish is chocolatey, oaky, and malty. Wonderful.

Bottle at James’s 4k/5k/10k tasting. Pours a deep brown to black with a thin beige head. Big thick chocolate on the nose, super smooth vanilla. Cocoa right away, sweet vanilla, smooth chocolate. Lingering chocolate, cocoa, warm vanilla. Very nice.
