Bottle. White Wax. Pours with a black hue and a tan head. Aromas are strongly creamy, huge vanilla, chocolate ice cream, cookie dough nose. Cocoa nibs, low roast, ice cream and barrel. Flavors are chocolatey and a bit chalky. Vanilla. Powdery, lots of cocoa, mild grainy. Medium carbonation, but feels a touch thin. Amazing aroma though!

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 jbeatty (543) - New York, USA - OCT 11, 2012
Bottle, 10/11/2012. Pours black, decent white head fades rather quickly, fine thick lacing. Aroma of moist, rich chocolate brownies, cocoa powder, smooth roasted coffee (with chocolate), with subtle vanilla and wood notes but the barrel is clearly not anywhere near center stage. Flavor very much follows suit- roasted malts with great chocolate character, a little chalky, mildly sweet but balanced. Medium light body, dry. Decent but lacking complexity.

Pitch black with a thin off-white head. A lot of rich bourbon and some oaky complexity. Chocolate and a lot of soft sweetness. Barrel flavour with some toasted malt through the middle. The bitter chocolate really picks up on the back - awesome stuff really.

Pours pitch black with a foamy head. Aroma of roasty malts, hints of vanilla, chocolate, oak and bourbon. Taste is quite sweet with hints of vanilla, roasted malts, chocolate and bourbon. Finish of vanilla notes, sugary syrup, oak and bourbon. Okay, quite tasty imperial porter.
3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 _angst_ (1796) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - OCT 3, 2012
Sample @ Stockholm Beer & Whisky 2012. Pours very dark brown, almost black, with a small dark mocha head that slowly dissipates while leaving lots of trace on the glass. Smell is sweet with lots and lots of chocoalte combined with vanilla fudge, toffee, toasted malts, wood, roasted coconut, burnt cookies, brownies and chocolate pudding. Taste is sweet and bitter with roasted malts, cocoa powder, wood, dark roast coffee, brownies, milk chocolate, roasted coconut, resin, burnt cookies, vanilla fudge and hints of pine. Mouthfeel is smooth, round, tiny watery and medium bodied. Finish is tiny sweet and bitter with roasted malts, bitter chocolate, sweetened dark roast coffee, wood and hints of lemon zest. Solid chocolate and vanilla bomb that I expected more from.
3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 wedgie9 (1596) - Nashville, Tennessee, USA - SEP 30, 2012
Tasted on 9/30/12 from a waxed and capped 650mL bomber bottle, thanks to Baker for the trade. Pours nearly black, dark brown with an average tan head that slowly recedes to thin, bubbly lace. The nose is straightforward dark roasted coffee and chocolate porter with plenty of vanilla and caramel bourbon. The flavor is very dry with tons of dark chocolate and coffee, finishing with some vanilla, caramel, and milk chocolate. The body is medium with average carbonation and a long bitter dark chocolate and vanilla bourbon finish.
