3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Middle of the road craft IPA. Nice fat long-lasting head and a pleasant oranged yellow color. Aroma is floral and hoppy. A bit bitterhopped to my taste.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Chattanooga, TN. - Riverside Wine & Spirits - 12 oz can. Medium copper pour, tight snow white head, nice lacing, Aroma has some light spruce accents, a bit of homebrew crystal malt funkiness. Flavor has some light citrus bitter undertones, some minty notes, a touch of mango fruitiness. Mouthfeel is thick enough. Decent.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
12 Fl. Oz. Can. Pours clear amber with a generous white head that retains lots of lacing. Aroma of piney and citrus, cascade hops mixed with some, very nice and earthy. Nice hoppy bitter taste well balanced with some caramel sweetness from malts. Very good tasting beer, enjoyable and drinkable; overall very good beer.

Fantastica birra, pale ale erbacea e leggermente fruttata, di un ottima beverinità, un amaro molto piacevole.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Can to dimpled mug at The Vault in Tulsa. Can listed abv as 5.5%. Absolutely love the nose with the fresh, clean aroma of the Cascade hops. Drew a few looks from around the room as I repeatedly put my nose in the glass. Nice balance, ridiculously easy to drink and just enough bitterness for a pale. Overall, a very good, sessionable pale though a little pricey.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Nice light copper color. Smells of spicy malts, more like a brown ale. Taste it very simpler. Brown ale spicy malt but with a dry Hop finish. Ok beer but taste more like a brown then an IPA.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
I poured a 12oz can into a goblet.
Appearance: Clear copper color, plenty of visible carbonation. Forms a fairly large, eggshell, frothy head which retains and laces very well.
Smell: Pretty much just pine with a hint of tree bark or pinecone or other rustic aroma.
Taste: According to the description on the brewer’s website, Caldera Pale Ale is a fairly simple recipe of only three types of malt and uses only cascade hops for bitter. Despite the low-tech approach, the result is a palate that’s plenty flavorful though a bit direct. There’s a strong hoppy presence right away with dry, piney hops that slither across the tongue. Riding shotgun is a decent malty backbone which imparts a general sweetness but not much in the way of any particular flavors. Perhaps a touch of caramel or toffee, but that’s about it. As it finishes there’s a nice herbal flavor that envelopes the palate. Similar to iced tea sans lemon and sugar.
While nothing ground-breaking, this beer is at least interesting in the mouth until the last drop. I’m surprised to get this much bitterness (55 IBUs) out of a pale ale. The hops are on the drier side, though, so there’s a slightly cloying aftertaste. Still, it’s refreshing while in the mouth and would work well as a meal accompaniment or a summer refresher.
Drinkability: Though bitter for the style, Caldera Pale Ale is no challenge to drink. A medium body and a well-carbonated mouthfeel make it surprisingly easy to throw back. It’s got plenty of flavor for 5.5% ABV without anything overbearing making it ideal for novices and veteran drinkers.

Enjoyed in a joint tasting with my trading and tasting friend Strykzone. Thanks or facebook Chat even thought we are 1500 miles apart is was like being in the same room. The beer poured from a the can an apricot color with a very robust white head and and some excellent lacing rings. The nose is citrus and tropical fruit. Medium body and a smooth clean mouthfeel. The flavor is rich and perfectly balanced between the malts and hop flavor. Really good tasting brew.
