4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours a clear deep ruby red, maybe mahogony brown. One finger beige head. Some thin lacing, good head retention around the wall of the glass.
Aroma is medium dark roasted malt, not as deeply roasted as most porters. Itís a little hazelnut, a little vanilla. A little brown sugar. I do smell some hops, but theyíre floral. I can smell some chocolate in there, but itís not up front as much as I would like.
Taste is coffee forward, more coffee in the taste than in the nose. Itís a little creamy, but not too much. I taste the hazelnuts and the vanilla. It all works very well. I had it cold, itís better after it warms up a bit. On the other hand, it would probably be just as delicious frozen.
Mouthfeel is medium. Itís creamy like I said. It finishes marginally dry, sliightly sweet. Itís very smooth. Itís very drinkable.
Overall, this is great. I donít know what it is about porters and cans, but there seems to be a lot of them out there. Maybe thatís the secret to a great porter. But this one is a good one. I think mine is out of date, the date on the can is smudged. But doesnít matter, itís very tasty. If you are reading this and are thinking about buying it, donít waste any time, buy it!!

Can. Pours a clear dark brown body under a small fizzy light brown head. The nose is showing lots of chocolate malt and cocoa powder with just a light hint of hoppiness. The flavor is pretty strong on the chocolate as well, very little roastiness, some cocoa nibs, some nuttiness, minimal hop bitterness on the finish. Medium bodied with soft fizzy carbonation and a lingering chocolaty finish. Pretty decent Porter.
