A little toasty in the nose with hints of chocolate. Chestnut colour. Clean taste, lightly smokey with dry, full grain character. Pretty simple example.

Comes out of the tap an opaque deep sable with a minimal head, but the latter may be an artifact of te pour. Smoky aroma has tones of molasses and high-quality coffee. Absolutely delicious flavor has roast coffee, chocolate and molasses components and is just slightly sweet - and superb! Smooth, fizzy texture is extremely pleasing. If you visit the Pacific Northwest, look for this one!

Draft at naked city. Pours a lush almost black dark brown with a tight even and creamy tan head that has excellent retention. Nose is very balanced with coffee, roasted patent malt, cocoa, sugar, toasted nuts. Tight small to medium carb feel with just enough body...perfect porter feel. Just as balanced as the nose, semi sweet coffee, hint of licorice, dark chocolate, hint of nut, smoke and char. If I were to knock it, a touch more body and that would add to the flavor experience.

Nose has a pleasant array of aroma - roast, chocolate, underlying sweetness, earthy notes as well. Pours black with a khaki creamy head that lasts for a little while. The flavor is a nice mix of roasted malts, bittersweet chocolate, and earthy bitterness that rounds out the finish. Smooth creamy mouth feel, medium carbonation contributes to the mouth feel. A nice porter.

Draft @ brouwer’s. All around solid beer. Smells pretty good, like dark chocolate. Fairly light palate which leads to lots of beers. Would like to try more from this brewery.

Draught. Poured dark brown black with medium white head. Medium aroma, some malt, some chocolate. Full flavour, chocolate malts and caramel. Lasting finish with a more chocolatiness and some hop edge.

Wonderful fluffy full headed porter. Great esspresso aromas, roasted coffee. Salty under taste..this is minor yet sets the theme for the porter..the saltiness makes you gulp more of the chocolaty ,.coffee goodness. Great drinking beer..with great backi\ng.

Canned at SBWF08. Pours out in an almost black colour with a small lasting beige foam. Rich aroma of black coffee, cocoa, nuts and mild smoke. Medium-bodied with rich flavours of black coffee, dark chocolate, smoke and salt. Long medium-bitter finish of chocolate, salt and mild smoke.

12 oz can at Stockholm Beer Festival 2008. Dark reddish brown color. Rich roasted coffee and chocolate aroma. Soft roasted flavor with coffee, chocolate, toffee and fairly low bitterness. Tasty drinkable beer with good basic flavors. There could be more complexity though.

(Canned, Stockholm Beer Festival, 27 Sep 2008) Black colour with pale brown, frothy head. Roasted, malty nose with notes of chocolate, coffee and hints of spruce needles. Malty, roasted taste with chocolate and caffe latte. Smooth and creamy with a nice coffee bitterness in the finish. Well made and nicely balanced, but doesn’t really stand out. Nice beer though.
