This blueberry mead is off-dry, with a vibrant honey character. We use three quarters of a pound of organic Maine blueberries per bottle, and only pure raw northern honey for fermentation. The wine is fermented dry, aged in stainless steel for a year, and has a small touch of honey added just before bottling for roundness.

Poured at the Winery. Subdued, but present cooked blueberry aroma. Soft. The honey perks up in the front end of this, but then a cooked and aged blueberry pushes through. I’m not sure blueberry is the best choice for dry mead, as the soft mushiness of the berry and lack of tannins gives this a flabbier feel overall.
