COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Caledonianís medium gravity cask beer is brewed to strength, not weakened from another brew stream. This genuine bespoke brew makes a point of delivering the delicious balance between malt and hop.

Cask, George Hotel, Youlgreave. Golden brown with a white foam. †Aromas are nutty with weetabix and mild lemon. †Hints of lime with some oatiness. †Flavours are sweet, light malts with earthy nuttiness and a yeasty finish. †A decent session brew.

Cask @ Clockwork Beer Co. Amber brown colour, not much head. Mild caramel malt aroma. Grassy malt flavour with bitter aftertaste. Watery. Nothing special.

[cask at Bertís Bar, Edinburgh] Toffee coloured pour with a thin white head. Aroma of the same, with some sweet caramel and stale biscuits. On the taste, the first few sips were very pleasant Ė quite dry with the biscuity edge, but after a while the sweetness came out and the lack of body became the most noticeable factor. Tough to penalise them for that, as that was the intention. Iím not sure Iíd have it again - but I can appreciate what the Caley are trying to do here [16122012]

Dark orange, small loose head. Nasty chemical aroma. Even worse chemical taste. Probably pipe cleaning fluids. Finish rough.Probably the fault of the pub, but fuck Heineken, I donít care for a rerate.

Cask at The Malt & Hops. Amber with a bubbly white head, Aroma of toffee malt. Flavour is very weak. Malt + water. Sink job.

On tap @ Berts Bar, Edinburgh. Pours dark amber with a decent creamy head. The nose is a bit faint, in fact somewhat like a normal Caley beer but watered down. So, weíre talking malt and toffee. The taste has more of the same, though for a change it doesnít have the expected oxidised astringent malt note on the end. Itís less offensive than usual, though maybe thatís because thereís less of it - the palate is light, the texture is light and it could just be a malt liquor I suppose. Overall, have had worse!

By the courtesy of mr_h, hand-pulled cask ale, half pint at Pot Still. Gimmick related to the alcohol taxation in the UK. Creamy, white head, clear amber body. Mild smell of caramel malts and the same goes for the taste profile. Easy to drink, and diluted as expected (Glasgow, 12.04.2012).

Cask. Golden with a creamy head. Not much nose beyond some malt. Malty body. Nice and light and. Wry drinkable, but not much excitement. A bit of biscuit and oat.

Cask gravity @ Nairn Beer Festival 2012
Caramel bown, clear, good frothy bubbly head
Aroma - caley malt slight popcorn aroma
Taste - light caramel malts, caley popcorn malts, bitter hop background, reasonable amount of flavour but what was there was not great to be honest
Palate - very thin, watery, bit rough bitterness. Finish - bitter, metallic.
Overall - Iím yet to find a decent 2.8% beer. Didnít finish my half and moved on to something better
