RWWP (10), Ancaster, Ontario, Canada Feb 23, 2008 Closer to a brown ale than a pale one. Lighter hops than most UK ales. Easy-drinking ale.
Todeon (145), Höllviken, Sweden Jul 22, 2008 Bottle. Aroma is nutty and a bit sweet. Taste is a bit smokey and earthy with notes of caramel. A bit acid aswell. Nice creamy mouthfeel. espenra (63), Oslo, Norway Jul 19, 2008 50cl bottle from Lørenskog Brusshop. It poured an amber orange colour with a creamy medium head. The aroma smells of malts and caramel. The flavour tastes of malts, nuts, light caramel and hops. It has a short aftertaste. TBone (4841), Pori, Finland Jul 17, 2008 Bottled (BB 11/2009)
Clear dark amber color, creamy off-white head. Hazel nutty aroma. Nutty, a bit sweetish, malty flavor. Leads to nutty-oily aftertaste with some hops. Crisp carbonation. Pleasant session beer, but a bit empty to get better score. MBison (348), Southern Highlands, Australia Jul 14, 2008 Bottle (500ml). Poured clear amber with a dense frothy head which was mostly lasting. Aroma was of biscuity caramel malts with mild notes of butterscotch, spicy/resiny hops, orange citrus, nectarines, mixed dark berries and some light earthy/woody notes. Flavor was light (but good) resiny/earthy hop bitterness with smooth caramel malts, nectarines, light notes of citrus and cranberries with a nutty finish. Medium bodied with soft carbonation, a dry/creamy mouthfeel and a good finish. sneezey (100), Hackettstown, New Jersey, USA Jun 2, 2008 On tap in Paris - brownish color, with a definite malty aroma right from the start. Lighter on the palate than I would have expected, but still a nice malty taste with good but not overwhelming hops. Not my favorite in a Scottish bitter, but anything Scottish is better than plain bitter. Good. But not great.
