1.4 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20
Multiple samplings reveal a beer that is always - always - full of butter. Caley 80 is a modest bitter, already malty in character. Caledonian canít keep the butter out of their beers, however, and it is very noticeable in this product, which in most instances fails to even live up to the most modest standards of drinkability. A full pint of Caley 80 is invariably a challenge even I cannot best.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
cask at The Malt Shovel in Edinburgh - Pours mostly clear amber with a small, white, lingering head. Thereís a mild aroma of caramel malt. The flavor is also of caramel malt with fairly minimal hops presence. Itís light to medium bodied and while okay, they havenít exactly put the "bitter" in this bitter.
