Attractive clear brown coloured ale without a head. Bitter character with a lovely grainy aftertaste and quite smooth in the palate.

Pours hazy copper color with a small head. Aroma of fruits, caramel, hops and malts. Flavor is the same with some grassy notes.

(bottle) Clear, chestnut-brown colour with a mid-sized tanned foamy head. Mildly toasty malty aroma with caramel, nutty notes, accompanied by slightly fruity and woody hops. Slightly sweet and bitter flavour, light bodied with a modest carbonation. Delicately nutty toast-malty aroma with notes of caramel and a tinge of fruity hops; slim and mildly toasty and fruity finish with notes of caramel and berries in the aftertaste. Slim but likeable Bitter. 11.II.13

500 mL can from the LCBO (Bank & Walkley, Ottawa). Poured a clear dark brown with a huge frothy and lingering head, and massive lacing. The aroma was huge malt, with fruits and spice. The taste took me off guard, quite flavorful with lots of spice, dried fruits, and lots of smoked mash giving it a strong but pleasant scotch aftertaste. Very drinkable!!

Canette 500ml.

500ml bottle. Clear dark brown amber colour, foamy off-white head that diminshes and a roast malt aroma. A rich burnt roast malt taste balanced with hints of fruit and a dry hop bitter finish. Smooth mouth feel. Quite OK.

Back log; on tap in March 2011; poured an amber/brown color. ARoma of caramel malt and bread, with some light fruit notes. Flavor was very much the same. A pretty good, simple and drinkable brew.

Clear dark amber with a nice fizzy, lacy, disappearing beige head. Smells of sweet caramel malt, light roast, and dry bread. Medium oily body. Sweet taste of malt, nut and caramel with notes of straw and a bitter acidic hop finish. Very average bitter with general good qualities but nothing much to stand out.
