Cask at the Bridge Inn Stourport. Pale appearance hides a very drinkable session beer. Malty without overpowering hops

500ml bottle served in its own pint glass. Pours a clear dark orange color. Nose is a mix of caramel and resin. Toffee, caramel malts, resin in the mouth too. Slightly sweet, slightly bitter. Strong British character. Light body. Medium to low carbonation. Caramel and resin in the aftertaste. Medium drinkability. Classic British bitter made in Scotland.

500ml bottle from Co-op. Thin white head, little lacing. Clear copper body. Malty nose, light syrup. Flavour is biscuit, grass, earthy. Gentle bitterness on the finish. Clean mouthfeel, light carbonation. Classic traditional IPA, well balanced and easy to drink.

Pours clear amber with a smallish head. Malty aroma with fruity notes and even a hint of caramel. Taste sweetish too with malt and bread, but it finishes with moderate bitterness. Too sweet brew for me. (500ml bottle, bb 31.08.16)

As bitter ale it’s not exactly what one expects. There are fine foaming and it has a good flavor of both hops, malt and some fruit. The flavor is as such also in order, but in my opinion lacks a little more ferocity in the form of a little more crispness and bitterness.

Pours a golden copper colour with small white head which doesn’t last. Aroma is buttery, sweet malt and lightly grassy hops. Taste is sweet, slightly bitter and rather bland. Drinkable but nothing special and rather watery

Bottle from Waitrose and drunk at home. Clear amber lasting off white head. Some malt and some earthy hop on the aroma. Some toffee in the mouth. Some hop on the finish. It’s a pretty decent bitter. Bit of yeast character. Well balanced and pretty drinkable.
