[Cask at Monk’s Retreat (JDW), Reading] Rich gold with a moderate white head and a slight fizz. A little lemon (although not as dominant as the name implies it should be), some sweetcorn and a clean if rather cardboardy bitterness. OK refresher, if a little thin.

Hand pulled at the Figure of Eight, Birmingham. A bit of lemon barley, cardboard and some spring water. Fairly dry and a bit refreshing, but I won’t be rushing back. Felt a bit weird in the mouth. Strange.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 DruncanVeasey (5145) - NUNEATON, Blue Square Prem, Warwickshire, ENGLAND - APR 7, 2011
The Larry, Nuneaton Lemon squeezed on thistle and oak aroma. Thick oatmeal-and-slate Scottish mouthfeel, TCP dabs, oak, lemon, traces of sappy hop, oak again. Soft, dunked biscuit afters without a dab of butter. Not a note out of place. Could kill this in some quantity. Negligible but in good nick and very pleasant.
2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 tommann (1446) - Dudley, West Midlands, ENGLAND - APR 7, 2011
Cask at the Chequers Inn, JDW, Stourbridge. Pours gold with a small head. Aroma is lemon washing up liquid with some light malt behind. Not much to start with the taste. Thin grassy finish. Certainly not lip smacking.
