Commercial Description:
Cask, Occasional;
This new oatmeal stout has dark roasted malt flavours with a hint of caramel and liquorice, balanced with a subtle hop flavour. This is a modern tribute to the classic stouts of the 18th and 19th centuries. Hops used: Target

Handpulled cask at JDW Hatch End. Dense brown with a loose bubbly beige head. If I’d tried this in a blind tasting I’d have identified it as a mild! Sweet and buttery, so obviously from the Caley stable.

On draught at JDW The Prince of Wales, Cardiff. Dark brown with a creamy tan head. Fruity, hints of chocolate and apples, faily bitter. Surprisingly little oatmeal stout character, except for the colour.

Cask in the Market Porter. Alround rating: Diactyl bomb, roasty fairly sweet, but buttery beyond hope. Very poor.

Cask pint at JDW Newcastle. Pours dark, slightly viscous, drinks with a honey like sweetness, some whisky and malt flavours, finishes quite bizaarly, I can’t quite put my finger on what it is but it’s odd. Ok stout with an unusual but not unpleasant level of sweetness.
