UPDATED: DEC 3, 2011 cask at AGBell ... copper brown ... creamy tan head ... soft creamy toffee malt nose ... that sweet caramel toffee malt ... light burnt caramel ... over sweet ... little melon ... not really for me.

Cask @ John Moore, JDW. Dark brown colour, tan head. Nose is fruity, malty, sour vegetables, bit of toastiness. Flavour is light malty, sour fruits, medium carbonation. A bit watery and bland.

tombyars (1102) - Saltcoats, SCOTLAND - DEC 2, 2011
Tried this at The Esquire House, Glasgow (JDW) in December 2011. Cask, handpump dispense. Clear dark ruby red in colour with a thin white head. Slight sulphurous taint in the short aroma and a little malt but nothing else. Thin mouthfeel and good lacing. Mixed malts deliver a very weak malt loaf base with roast grain to start. This soon peeters out to leave a weak raisin fruit flavour devoid of any decent body. A hint of hop resins appear as an afterthought to the brief aftertaste. Malt makes a short return with the dilute finish but sulphurous tones still marr the taste buds. Pretty disappointing stuff and I really expected a better product from Caley - the combo seemed to cancel each other out!

stravale (574) - Scottish Borders, SCOTLAND - NOV 28, 2011
Cask @ Muckle Cross, Elgin
Ruby brown, clear, thick white head.
Aroma of typical caley malt ’popcorny’ smell, some sweet dark malts.
Taste of caramel malts, touch of roasted malt, sweet malts, some bitter hops, occasional slight eggyness in the taste and aroma - rather bland.
Palate - light to medium body, soft carb. Dull finish, bit malty, cereal and bit metallic.
Not one of their best beers. Below average.

On cask at the Alexander Graham Bell. Pours a dark brown colour with a thick beige head. Aroma of coconut, yeast and dark malts. Similar oaty malt flavour with chocolate and a little coconut again. Moderate carbonation. OK.

Cask @ The Edward Wyllie JDW. Marzipan malt aroma. Dark brown colour, reasonable head. Dry fruity fagash malt flavour. Bitter aftertaste. Very average bitter.
