I believe the correct name is Edinburgh Strong Ale. It has been a couple weeks since I drank this beer so I will give vague rating. I enjoyed it immensely. Stong and malty. I wish I could get more; a friend delivered this from Scotland.

Bottle. Mmmm, the direct fire works wonderfully on this to create a wonderful taste of burnt toffee nicely balanced by dark and tangy hops. A true "Wee Heavy" and a true delight. Classic!

Dark amber, nice lasting offwhite head. Has a great malty aroma with vanilla and some toffee and cream. Flavor is malty and vanilla with some hops and fruit. Creamy palate and a mild finish. A great scottish ale, I love this kind of beer.

Bottled. Known in the UK as Edinburgh Strong Ale with abv of 6.4%. One of the most appealing looking beers I have seen, Lovely pin sharp copper bronze colour with an excellent long lasting rocky cream coloured head and just the right level of condition. Enticing aromas of malt, cheese and yeast with a woody smokiness lurking in the background. Complex flavours of tangerine malt and yeasty esters and a very soft finish that has a perfect balance of delicate hoppiness that isn`t over bitter and maltiness that isn`t over sweet. At last a pretender to Fullers ESB`s crown.
