Cask conditioned at a Wetherspoons. Amber with white head. Grainy, light and just a little bitter with hints of hop, not an outstanding bitter but reasonable enough.

A Mes rate. Cask at Baker St ’Sporks.
Clean copper colour with a reasonable off white head and plenty of lace. Aroma and flavour is full on bread and butter. Diacetyl dominated malty brew with some mineral notes in the finish with some late hops that attempt to give some balance but fail miserably. Some slight earth is the only other thing it has going for it. Another dull as dishwater Caledonian beer.

Cask (Wetherspoons Met Bar)
Ferny brackeny aroma. Very vegetal and chalky. Again sub par, again spooned. Dry hops are there, but they’re rather papery.

Cask handpull at County Hotel, JDW, Ashford. Copper brown colour, lasting beige head. Oh what a surprise it has some butter. Some ok hopo on the end. It’s ok, It’s a slightly buttery bitter.

Cask. Lovely dark amber, small head. Lots of sweet malt, fairly typical Cali profile. Would have improved by a generous dose of bitter hops.

Cask at the Monks Retreat (JDW), Reading. Gold with a dense cream head; grainy aroma; bland, grainy flavour with some sweet biscuity notes; the finish was thin and lightly bitter. I’m not impressed.

Cask-conditioned at the Staple Hill Oak (JDW), Bristol 6/12/09. Amber with a decent, off-white head. Aroma of burnt toffee, milk chocolate and a touch of earthiness. Flavour had sweet malts, more toffee with a hint of diacetyl and moderately bitter finish. Ok.
