Cask at The Regal (JDW), Cambridge. Very dark brown with a small creamy off white head. Ashy leather aroma with a little sweet fruitiness. Very pleasant sweet taste with a little grain and slight bitterness. Pretty good. Enjoyed this with a palatable, if unhealthy, Wetherspoons ’Traditional Breakfast’.

Cask conditioned handpump Moon On The Square Northampton. A dark mahogany coloured beer with a whitish pillowy head. The aroma is oaty and bready with toasted malts. The taste is the same and there are crunchy notes. It’s a little thinner than I’d have liked but it’s OK.

ladnewton (910) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - MAY 8, 2010
Cask at the Jolly Butchers, Stoke Newington, London on 5th May 2010. Brown with frothy pale brown head. Full-flavoured maltiness - caramel - and a touch of spice, and a herby/citric tang on the tongue. Slightly creamy/oily mouthfeel. Quite a lot "happening" in this mild.
