tombyars (1102) - Saltcoats, SCOTLAND - OCT 14, 2011
First tasted this in the Saltcot, Saltcoats (JDW) in May 2004. Cask, handpump dispense. Clear pale amber in colour with a thin white head. Slight hint of honey and toffee in the short aroma. Thin pleasant mouthfeel and good lacing. Pale malts give a digestive biscuit base with sweet toffee and honey notes mixed with golden syrup. Faint prickle of dry floral hops in the short aftertaste but sweet honey note continues into the smooth finish. A fairly decent summer session ale.

(cask @ Coopers Arms, Ratcherster) Im allergic to bee or wasp stings and suffer from anaphylatic shock , so basically the fucking things can kill me ...so im not the biggest enthusiast of honey themed beers . Self indulgence aside , honey beerz are seldom more than bitters or golden ales with fake honey texture and silly names. Fullers Honey version is still IMO the most non generic example.
