Cask conditioned at The Bell, Banbury. Copper with white head. largely toffee, butterscotch notes, sweetish with a faint, earthy hop lingering in the background. Nothing special at all.

A - caramel with a little fruit A - copper with frothy head T - sweet P - mid and soft O - good

Distinctly un-distinct. Dedicated to rugby lovers this is below par stuff.

Cask conditioned handpump Eastgate Northampton. An amber coloured beer with a whitish pool of head and a little lace. Toffee sweetness as is the norm with Caley. Some oaky vanilla notes. It’s perfectly palateable just perfectly predictable. I’d drink it again for sure.

Aroma - Caley malt aroma...sweetish popcorn
Taste - sweet caramel malts..caley popcorn...bit of honeycomb candy...glucose...bit of bitter hops in the background...not great
Soft carb...thin body..sweet palate...sweet tangy. Finish..sweet tangy
Overall - Rather sweet and cloying..not much going on...rather poor beer

Cask handpull at Pullman Folkestone. Sulphur and caramel aroma. Clear amber beer. Quite a lot of character. Someone is playing Elgar. Wonderful. Its a decent rose fruit fruit salad beer. Good nick if a tad tight. Best Caley beer in some time.

Cask conditioned at The Shakespeare, Durham. Copper coloured beer, low head. Malty aroma, notes of toffee and nuts. The flavour is fairly well balanced between the malts and hops, nutty notes.

You see what they’ve done there? There’s a picture of a rugby ball and it’s over the crossbar which is worth some points in rugby apparently. So the ball is over the bar. But hang on a second. When you order a pint the barperson will hand it over to you - across the bar. See? It’s also over the bar! Oh how much we enjoyed that one! Just in case your sides haven’t yet split, the tag line underneath says “Try... then be converted”. Cask @ The Cafe Royal Circle Bar, Edinburgh. Sour, grassy, malt, caramel aroma & flavour. Clear medium brown colour with a good head. Bitter aftertaste. Not great.

Aroma of caramel malt and something more minerally. Smooth soft brown bitter with subtle hops on the first taste, sweet malt and a nice peppery finish. Easy drinking and very nice everyday style, even though it’s a seasonal ale.
