Cask Conditioned, at the Black Jug, Horsham, UK. Absolutely lovely pint. Golden full bodied beer, juicy beige head. Slowish to settle, the beer just looked a peach from the get-go. Rich hoppy aroma, back up by deep, fullbodied hoppy flavour. Queue up for it if you see it about.

Cask conditioned at the Star, Bath 11/5/07. Golden coloured with slight white head. The most prominent thing about XPA was the aroma, which was huge. This was buttery with a hint of caramel, and reminded me of some Franconian kellerbiers. The flavour was more subdued, with citrussy hops and a malty finish. Unusual and very good.

UPDATED: APR 13, 2015 1)Cask, Hinckley Spoons. Bright gold speckled with lace. Nose swinging between butteriness and resiny fresh hop, pollen and tea. Darjeeling, lemon and passion fruit citrus over a buttery biscuit background. Somehow the combination really holds together well. Unexpectedly fresh hoppy treat. 2) Cally xpa Couple of pints, some pub in Henley with Baz and Decks. Crushed biscuit s, tangerine and cream softness. pleasant throwaway stuff with hints of green herb. Nose of satsuma and red apple. 736313.

Cask at Ensign Ewart, Royal Mile, Edinburgh. Pours an amber beer with egg white head. Spicy cream nose. Taste of yeast, honey, hops and lots of grapefruit. Quite nice at the beginning but becomes bitter and cloying near the end.
