This Calfkiller original has flavors of dark caramel and brown sugar that crawl across the palette and finish with just a little bite from a mysterious blend of British and American hops.

Pint on tap. Murky copper-brown with a spot of bubbles. Nose is Belgian yeast, toffee, and a bit of citrus and resin. Taste is mostly Belgian yeast with some tart apple, plum, wooden hops, wheat and caramel. Medium body has medium carbonation and is to the dry side.

Tap. ML rose: gets better with each sip as this joint serves their craft brew a bit too cold or in too cold glasses. Stupid. Anyway, it has a roasted malt nose and is a ok brew. Cloudy with a bit of an earthy/sour/beginner homebrew/cider taste to it. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Sample at 12 South Taproom. The beer is a cloudy amber-brown color with a medium beige head that diminishes steadily to an outer ring. Aroma of roast malt and citrus. Light to medium body with flavors of caramel malt, citrus and slight hops. The finish is sweet with a malty aftertaste. Decent overall.

Cloudy light brown. Citrus, brown sugar and candy on the nose. Medium bodied palate is a little thin up front, but has flavors of candy, vanilla and baking spice in the middle and a nice finish. Good, a little on the sweet side for me.

Amber, cloudy, and almost no head. Mildly spicy, toasty, caramel aroma. Smooth, rich palate. Lots of caramel and brown sugar, and a crisp. woody finish. Odd yeasty sweetness as well.

Sampled at the East Nashville Beer Festival, ’11 Aroma of agave, light brown ale, slight molasses, little roasty, but overall very light. Not bad, but there’s not much to go on in terms of flavor, incredibly subtle and subdued. Like Sugar was the main ingredient.

Brown-red, beige cover. The aroma is sadly pretty empty save some faint sweetness. Taste is sweet, woody, earthy, some chocolate, a tiny bit metallic around the edges.
