3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Itzjerm (277) - Taft, Tennessee, USA - DEC 12, 2011
I was told this was a pale ale... as such it was horrible. This taste just like a whit beer. (Dead on with big names like ShockTop. However as a Golden Ale... this is not a bad brew. It was enjoyable... nice nose... very summery... not best choice for winter.
4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 Rustyham (1396) - Nashville, Tennessee, USA - AUG 13, 2011
This beers amazing, incredibly light, refreshing, slightly sweet. Flavor is kind of like those Chinese candies, white rabbit. A sweet rice flavor. Color is kind os like a wit, pale, light yellow, cloudy. I could really drink a lot of this, and it is so refreshing!
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 illinismitty (2269) - Nashville, Tennessee, USA - JUL 24, 2011
Draft at 12 South Tap room. Pours a hazy golden with a dissipating white head. Estery aroma. Medium bodied with a nice organic texture. Flavor of wheaty and pilsner malts, countered by notes of honey, clove, and lemon. Bitterness is herbal, but tame. Sort of like a pilsner meets Saison. Interesting and enjoyable

Pint from draft at Char. Calfkiller has managed to make a style I find boring and unappealing into something interesting and drinkable. The name is among the most awesome ever for a beer. That aside, the pour is typical gold with a very slight haze and not much of a head. The aroma is a little vegetal with subtle spiced notes. I also smell some papery hops and crackers. The palate is medium, it has a little bit of weight to it for the style. There is a husky, grainy malt profile with woody hops. It finishes of apples, corn, crackers and a smattering of subtle spices like clove and honeycomb. The more I sip it, the more I ponder some interesting fruity notes. This is pretty good and rather different considering the type of brews that one normally sees crafted in Tennessee.
