COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This hand-crafted porter is made with the finest barley malts and chocolate malt to yield a beer that’s bold in both body and color. English East Golding hops are used to balance the roasted malty flavors and contribute to the bittersweet finish. Our specialty brewer’s yeast adds complexity, resulting in a rich and creamy head.

Very dark brown colour. The aroma is mainly chocolatey with a slight hint of roast. Medium body with a coffee accent and a light chocolate character. A bit of breadcrust as well. Straightforward example.

Draft. Deep brown with diminishing khaki head. Aroma comes across with a lactic tartness at first, but warms into some choc and herb stuff. Flavor is neatly strung between cranberries, tea, cola, and some more mysterious woody tobacco things. Finishes mostly sharp with some lingering rooty roundness.

I had this 5(?) years ago when I stayed in Calistoga with my wife. Nice beer. I remember it being very toasty and having some nice java and mocha flavors. I think I tried 4 beers at dinner there and this one was one of the 2 that I really liked.
