aspidites (1268), manteca, California, USA Nov 22, 2007 Caramel and tea nose with a touch of biscuit and nuts. Good lacing with a soft mouthfeel. More tea and caramel on th epalate with a semi clean finish. pivo (2481), Germany Mar 17, 2007 Smells slightly of tree bark. Dark chesnut color, low tight head. Toasted malt, almost smokey at times. Dry tight woody end. Off balance, but holds together for the most part. Good enough to wash down a pizza, but not so interesting otherwise. Yogi_Beera (2400), Hamburg, Germany Sep 9, 2006 At the brewpub. IMO their best beer. Roasted malt taste. Red color, small head. Long lasting - well bodied. Decent! Ale_Drinker (1055), Sunnyvale, California, USA Feb 9, 2006 Lots of malt and alcohol are apparent in this brew. Full bodied, strong. I don’t detect much of the hops that are noted in the description though. pobenohne (504), Northern Liberties, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 8, 2005 Draft at the brewpub/Inn. Gorgeous biergarden, absoutely worth a small detour if you are in wine country. Beer very enjoyable.
