You'll love it or hate it; no in-betweens. An excellent wheat beer for drinking on a hot day. The typical phenolic banana flavor of wheat ales is not evident. The blueberry flavor is slightly sweet without being cloying, with an interesting light overtone of black pepper. The finish is a lingering sensation, best done repeatedly.

On tap at Blue Palms. Pours with a deep golden body and an off-white head. Nose is straight blueberry-buckwheat pancakes. Very strong and distinct aroma. Taste is also very easy to sum up: Clearly Canadian Blueberry Soda. Sweet, strong blueberry presence that somehow isnít cloying or annoyingly artificial. Lively to fizzy bubbles lead to a lively mouthfeel.

Draught. Arbitrary score 4/5 for Appearance, as nighttime conditions prevented correct assessment. Fruity nose, if anything reminding of pineapple; blueberry remaining a possibility. Very dull. Perfumed, utterly artificial flavour and very watery, if slightly wheaty background. Watery, empty, even the typical wheatslickness missing. Poor. And thatís putting it mildly.

Sample at the brewpub. This brew is a clear gold color with a medium thin and fizzy white head that diminishes rapidly. Spotty lacing on the glass. Aroma of blueberry with touches of wheat and malt. Light-bodied and fruity with flavors of sweet blueberries and malt, with mild wheat and spice undertones. The finish is fruity and short. Just average overall.

Draft. Straw colored beer with a cream colored head. Aroma of blueberry muffins. Blueberry and light wheat flavor. Medium bodied. Blueberry lingers with light malt/wheat. Interesting enough.

sample @ SDBC Pours white clear, thick white head. Aroma / taste, blueberry extract, bready cookie mouthfeel, wheat, sweet and not much of the berry tartness could be detected.

(11/5/08) Draught sample at the San Diego Brewing Co. in San Diego. Clear pale golden color with no head. Nice aroma of ripe blueberrie, slightly acidic. Sweetish artificial flavor of blueberries, saccharine, gummy bears notes, a bit of wheaty notes and hints of acidity. Light-bodied. Smells quite good but thatís it.

Aroma is blueberry puree, perfume, and cereal. Pours hazy yellowish orange. Flavor is mostly smooth. Wheat and blueberry dominate flavor. Some cereal notes too. Very smooth. Body is relatively heavy, but I had about 6 beers by now, so...

Draught at the brewpub: Cloud wheat beer, nose of instant buckwheat blueberry pancakes, a bit of husky sweet fruity flavor. Interesting blueberry wheat. Works well, a bit sweet, a bit sour. I like the blueberry, you donít get that very often.

On tap at SDbrewing. Clar golden pour with a tinge of amber no head or lace. Huge nose of blueberry. You can smell it from a foot away. Clean BB flavor very sweet. NO bitter to speak of. No carbonation but it is pretty solid besides that. Another surprise, solid aroma and flavor make it a easy drinker. It had less carbonation than even I like.
