On tap at brewpub. Didn’t like the place much. Color was auburn/amber with an off white head. Aroma was pretty weak; maybe caramel. Flavor was quite good for style. Toasted malt, caramel, reddish malt. Ok.

UPDATED: MAY 18, 2010 On tap from the pub: Redish brown color with a medium yellowish head. Light malted milk shake to the nose. Flavor is sweet with a hint of nuttyness and just a touch of hop bite in the finish.

Sample at the brewpub. This brew pours a clear amber color with a medium thin off-white head that recedes steadily. Spotty lacing. Malty aroma with some caramel and hops. Medium, soft body with a sweet malty character. Notes of caramel and nuts in the background along with a pinch of hops. The finish is sweet and malty with a short aftertaste. Just average overall.

Draught at the brewpub: Redish brown, nose of caramel, no hops but noticable bitterness. The flavor is light in diacetyl, thin body, decent finish. No character.
