2.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 Blake (396) - Orange, California, USA - MAR 6, 2003
Had on tap at Callhan's on March 5, 2003 The beer is your standard red with a reddish-brown color and very slight aroma. Head is very small and taste is a bit sweet for a red for my liking. My brother's favorite Callahan's beer, but for me, I'll pass.

A: A light amber colored pour with a nice fluffy off-white head to it.
S: The aroma is primarily of toasted bread and sweet caramel, but there is a distinct off-note that I’ve noticed in several other red ales.
T: This one opens up with a caramel sweetness along with toasted bread and biscuity malts. There is a touch of floral hops and a mild bitterness.
M: Thin-medium in body with a tingly carbonation.
D: This was much maltier than I prefer in a red/amber ale, but still passable.

Draft. Nothing too exciting. Slight aromas of malt, flavor was mostly watered down. Bottom of the list for this brewer so far.

Clear reddish amber with a medium beige head. Aroma had roasted malt, caramel and spicy hops. Flavour was fairly spicy with roasted malt, caramel and hops that made it slightly dry and bitter.
2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 9/20 Crit (2841) - New Westminster, British Columbia, CANADA - DEC 16, 2002
Cloudy red brown, no aroma. No head. Mild malt taste, very faint hops
2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 RateandPillage (426) - Atlanta, Georgia, USA - JUL 18, 2005
Pours brown-red in color with off-white head. Lacking in aroma, flavor, palate, pretty much everything. Not sure I would claim it as my signature brew.
