2.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
A: A light amber colored pour with a nice fluffy off-white head to it.
S: The aroma is primarily of toasted bread and sweet caramel, but there is a distinct off-note that Iíve noticed in several other red ales.
T: This one opens up with a caramel sweetness along with toasted bread and biscuity malts. There is a touch of floral hops and a mild bitterness.
M: Thin-medium in body with a tingly carbonation.
D: This was much maltier than I prefer in a red/amber ale, but still passable.

On tap at brewpub. Didnít like the place much. Color was auburn/amber with an off white head. Aroma was pretty weak; maybe caramel. Flavor was quite good for style. Toasted malt, caramel, reddish malt. Ok.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Sample at the brewpub. This brew pours a clear amber color with a medium thin off-white head that recedes steadily. Spotty lacing. Malty aroma with some caramel and hops. Medium, soft body with a sweet malty character. Notes of caramel and nuts in the background along with a pinch of hops. The finish is sweet and malty with a short aftertaste. Just average overall.
