On tap at the brewpub, July 2006. Mid amber colour. Light aroma (it was served a bit cold) with some aromatic hop notes. Much more hop character in the flavour. Lots of grapefruit and a modicum of bitterness. Went down nicely. After the sampler, this was the one I had an extra pint of.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 Kinz (2694) - Glen Allen, Virginia, USA - JUL 8, 2005
UPDATED: JUL 1, 2007 Medium amber brown appearance, slight head. Light citric hop aroma. Pleasant hop taste, empahsis on grapefruit and orange, Faint caramel accented malt aroma. Light body. Decent, enjoyable, not spectacular. RERATE, almost 2 years from my original rating. Thanks to Rob, got to try a very fresh sample. This strays off of a typical amber and could easily be considered a bitter, with pleasant grapefruit and floral bitterness. Quite nice, and worth a few more points.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 aracauna (2691) - Georgia, USA - JUL 17, 2006
A slightly hazed amber with a creamy head that lasts a bit longer than the other beers except the porter, which is nitrous dispensed. The aroma is a very faint bit of malt. The flavor has a pleasing caramel maltiness and a bit of cereal. Very low hopping levels. Not a bad amber.

Very solid beer. I prefer the scottish, but this is a good offering. It differs slightly in the lack of a smoky presence, but it is a good beer with similar amber colour and nice bold flavour.
2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 KUEric (826) - Washington, Washington DC, USA - JUL 8, 2009
Nothing special here. A touch of citrus hops which i wasnt expecting in an amber, but it was heavily malted.
