deyholla (6707) - Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, USA - AUG 26, 2011
On tap at the brewpub. Pours a clear orange with a slight earthy brown hue and a tan head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma is full of nuttiness that is backed by hay, grain and bread. Flavor is also full of nuttiness but also has notes of bread and a bit of an odd acidic note.

esjaygee (3903) - Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA - MAY 14, 2011
On tap at Rowlands Calumet Brewery. Brown with a thin tan head. Aroma is once again buttery with light roasted malt and nuts. Taste of roasted malt, buts, swamp water and some diacetyl.

Scubatrip (596) - Annandale, Virginia, USA - AUG 30, 2010
On tap at the brewery, pours a clear brownish with no much of a head. Smells like a graham cracker, tast is sweetly malthy, brown sugar, graham crackers, pretty good, and i’m not usually a fan of nut browns.

   AROMA 6/10   APPEARANCE 3/5   TASTE 6/10   PALATE 3/5   OVERALL 11/20
IlanMan (1015) - Appleton, Wisconsin, USA - MAY 11, 2010
On tap at the Fox River Brewfest 2010. Pour was deep copper with an off white head. Aroma was of toffee, caramel malt, and some bread. Flavor was a bit less complex with mostly light bread and toffee characters blended together. This was a light brew with only a few flavors balancing with each other. Decent, but not exceptional.

   AROMA 6/10   APPEARANCE 4/5   TASTE 5/10   PALATE 3/5   OVERALL 11/20
madvike (2759) - Middleton, Wisconsin, USA - JUL 26, 2009
Growler fill from brewpub - Pours dark brown with nary a head. Smells nutty and lactic--almost sour malt. There’s not a ton of flavor, though it’s much like the aroma. There’s that same lactic quality, along with some malt and a little hops bitterness on the finish. It’s a pretty forgettable beer that just feels limp and flat in the mouth.

phishpond417 (2088) - Madison, Wisconsin, USA - AUG 19, 2008
Pours a dark copperish colour with a noticeable coffee aroma. Cinnamon, walnuts and ginger in the flavor. Semi sweet, lightly roasted coffee beans. Perfect for the style, but wish it was just a tad heavier and creamier.

Skyview (5242) - Papoose Jct, Minnesota, USA - APR 17, 2007
Fourth stop during Wisconsin Trip #2 and one of 11 brews offered at this small town brewpub. Pours a dark brown brew with an off white head. Head disappears at an average speed with excellent lacing. Armoa scents picked up include caramel, Toll House chocolate chip cookies with walnuts, bananas and roasted barley malt. Taste is smooth and sweet with light carbonation. Most excellent!

Dark amber. Heavy roasted malt flavor. Deep nutty flavor with almost a soy sauce quality to it.
