3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Marko (3612) - Split, - APR 17, 2012Ogi’s. Lovely misty dark amber body. Off white head. Slightly subdued sweetish aroma hop nose, quite malty, very light alcohol. Subdued aromatics, heck, they were more pronounced in the Pale Ale! Grainy, orange, alcohol on the fringes, slightly dumb bitterness. Hm. Had high hopes after the PA. Doesn’t deliver.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 stevoj (920) - Ramstein-Miesenbach, GERMANY - APR 28, 2013
Nicely executed IPA from Bavaria. Nice sharp but smooth hoppy aroma and taste, perfect mouthfeel and lingering bitterness on the lips and palate. Hops blend perfectl with the brew, not overpowering.

22/IV/13 - 33cl bottle @ Rampkrot (Deurne) - BB: 7/VII/13 (2013-360) Thanks to Bartlebier for sharing the bottle!
Little cloudy light orange beer, small irregular white head, unstable, non adhesive. Aroma: bit funky, some exotic fruits, grains, cow fodder, sweet, some citrus. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: bitter hops, lots of citrus, some grains, wheat, herbal spiciness. Aftertaste: some grapefruit, grassy, bitter hops, little sour, grains, sweet malty touch, sugary almost. Not bad, but still more of an impression rather than a real IPA.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 sebletitje (5416) - Enghien, BELGIUM - APR 23, 2013
50cl bottle courtesy of Bartlebier @ Post Toer de Geuze tasting.
BB 07-07-2013.

Bottle courtesy of bartlebier, thanks! Cloudy golden yellow color, thick white head, solid lacing. Aroma of subtle summer fruit and citrus. Taste is mildly bitter hay. A good effort!

Lightly sweet malts, light milky base with some lightly fruity hop profile, light spices, light bitter hops,… Taste is reasonably bitter hops, floral, strong spices, plaster, almost lactic malts, chunky yeast, some oldness creping in, light booze in the back, near banana hint sweet hint white grapes,,… Body is a bit full, bit different, agreeable fare, not too bad.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Allen (2670) - SWITZERLAND - MAR 16, 2013
Bottled 33cl. Courtesy of bartlebier. Tall creamy, nicely reamining head. Gooseberries, slight wild strawberries, citrusy and spicy hops throughout. Great malt back. Good bitterness. A delicious IPA with plenty of character. Thanks a lot bartlebier!
4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20 bartlebier (459) - Baden-Württemberg, GERMANY - MAR 6, 2013
new 33cl bottles (50cl before), same green design, this time labeled as Camba IPA (Eric is mentioned on the back, though) - This must be hands-down the most authentic IPA brewed on German soil at the moment. It is true to the style, from the full, round and nearly chewable malt base to the bitter but harmonious hop profile, and leaves behind all those others jumping on the IPA-train by creating slightly exotically hopped Keller&Vollbiere (usual suspects) as entry-level Pilsners. Even by US standards, this is a great bitter-hopped IPA with a tasty malt profile. My only quarrel with it is that is rather a DIPA, clocking in at 8 ABV, which makes it slightly alcoholic and less easy to drink with a meal than a normal IPA. Lower the ABV below 7 and this becomes scary teutonic IPA perfection - just don’t tell the Bavarians! (they invited a US brewer anyway, so I guess they cheated)?
4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 homawaye (23) - North Rhine-Westphalia, GERMANY - FEB 27, 2013
I have tasted the beer twice. Once at the Camba Bavaria, which was a perfect drinking experience. Second time in a bottel, which was obviously stored wrongly and the beer was too old. So I try to find some average. Eric’s IPA is, fresh from Tap, probably the best IPA from Germany. Incredible, very American style (no wonder, Eric is a American brewmaster brewing in Bavaria). But is also seems to be a beer that does not like to travel. Drink it where it is brewed! That’s perfect!
