COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cheers, mate, and ? Bottoms up? !

0.5 l bottle. Almost opaque hazy dark brown color. The aromas of smoke, leather, coffee and black currant. The flavors of coffee, dark fruits, berries, smoke and charcoal. Slightly too acrid and acidic for my liking.

On draft at the brewery. Black color with red tones. Nice head. Dark fruits and slight coffee on the nose. Well balanced porter.

Near black colored with red hints, medium sized beige head. Rich smoky-ashy aroma with licorice and roastiness, some salty-dry note here as well. Medium bodied. Flavor is also smoky with roastiness, still some salty, acidic and cherry aftertaste. Otherwise good, somehow weird aftertaste.

Bügelverschlußflasche: Deep ruby amber coloured, presumably hazy, small to medium-sized loose off-white head; sourish-fruity nose with roasty aromas and a shy hoppy background; solid sweet-bitter flavour, quite full bodied, smooth; robust and rich lingering fruity and roasty finish with an illusion of bitter chocolate in the aftertaste. Very fine, more of this.....

MoritzF (7342) - Bochum, GERMANY - OCT 12, 2010
(swing top bottle) Opaque coloured hue with a big and beige slowly lacing foamy head. Moderately roasted malty and earthy aroma with slightly dried fruity notes and a tinge of leather, accompanied by a touch of dark chocolate and traces of alcohol when it warms. Sweet and slightly roasty bitter flavour, medium bodied with a soft carbonation. Roast-malty and subtle fruity taste with a whiff of smoke and leather, also traces of chocolate in the background; sweet, mildly bitter-roasty and lasting finish, again with subtle fruity flavours. Wow, and this one comes from Oberbayern ?! 11.X.10

Red-orange shot deep brown beer with a huge, pale beige head. Sweet, nutty, ever so slightly roasted nose, with mild toffee. Sweet-roasted flavours with some dry-fruity notes, as stored plums. Medium bodied, quite slick; aftertaste is sweeter. Very drinkable porter, which is a rare beast.
