Drunk in a snifter at BrauKunstLive! 2013 Festival. The first was their Dettl Fire Beer. At 8% I was ]expecting a good beer, but I found it WAY too sweet and basically a Malzbier, too much maltiness and not balanced with hops or other flavors. Unfortunately, I had to pay for that one; the free tickets were only valid with the lower alcohol beers.

Bottle: Deep brownish-amber coloured, hazy, stable brownish foamy head, dried fruits, toasted malt and sweet caramel in the nose; moderate to solid sweet-bitter flavour, medium to full bodied; a slight alcohol-burn is detectable in the sweet caramelly-fruity finish. Quite good, but not really exciting…

Bottle from Quack-Duck, thanks! Aroma of cappuccino, chocolate, earth and blackberries. The forest fruit take over after a while making this beer very pleasant on the nose. Flavour is chocolate with earthy notes, the texture is quite thick and the whole is quite warming. Light tart, light sweet, light bitter. The forest fruit regrettably shift to the aftertaste. Good beer.

Light cream coloured head, dark colour. Very little on the nose, maybe some caramel and cereal, but not much else. Sweet, a touch of roastiness, not too bitter. Decent but at the same time nothing special. Kinda reminds me of a dunkler bock in that it’s dark but inoffensive in every way.

330ml bottle. Hazy dark brown colour with small, frothy to creamy, half-way lasting, moderately lacing, tan head. Concentrated caramel malty aroma with minimally roasty notes, a husky touch, floral hoppy overtones. Taste is slightly grassy and floral hoppy with minimally sweet dark and caramel malty underground.

Fruchtiger Duft nach Grapefruit, Maracuja, malzröstig. Start süß, Zitrus, dunkles Malz. Mittig aromatisch zitrusartig, süßlich und röstig. Abgangs Bitterschokolade, dunkles Malz, würzig. Trockenbitter abgehend. Gut.

Tap. Light sour roast aroma. Chesnut, low cappucino head. Roast aromatics, light fire, full fruity on the palate, chewy, satisfying.

mile (2110) - Helsinki, FINLAND - MAR 6, 2013
Bottle. Dark brown, small and fully diminishing light brown head. Moderate to heavy malty and sweetish aroma, caramel and light berry fruitiness, light roasted malt and some coffee, light hoppyness. Medium, malty and sweetish flavor, caramel and some coffee, light berry fruitiness. Finish is average, malty and sweetish, some caramel and light roasted malt with some coffee, light hoppyness. Sweet strong ale with caramel and coffee – too sweet/too much caramel (could use more hoppyness).
