On tap at YNWA, Kolding. Hazy chestnut colour with a lasting off-white head. Malty aroma of biscuit and bread crust, with a faint metallic note. Malty sweet flavour with a fruity touch. Slightly thin - lacks the depth of the best doppelbocks, but at least isn’t sweet like the worst.

Swing-top bottle marked 12.09.2012. Nose is somewhat slight, with dark malt and light fruit. Dark ruby brown edging up on light brown, head is tan. Taste much the same as the nose, semi-dry with a thin, vanishing malt presence; very low bitterness (more alcohol showing, in fact) with some earth and dark toffee, but the overall impression is quite mild. Flattish, lifeless medium body. Truth be told, I’m a little disappointed.

Tap @ YNWA. Nice head with good duration. Color is ruby/amber. Aroma and taste are rich dried fruits, caramel, notes of nuts, malt and hops. Full bodied and soft carbonation.

Reddish dark brown colour with a medium sized yellowish head, which leaves a thin film behind.
Sweet-toasty nose.
Syrupy and light sticky textured brew escorted by a sweet-tart tasted aroma with molasses, caramel underpainted by alcohol, grassy hops and toasted malt.
The finish is medium to long, sweetbitter and warming with alcohol, toast and citrusses, which leaves a sweetish aftertaste behind.
Good.

Pours clear, nice deep red with a small, off-white film head. Disappears fast. Aroma is sweet, some caramel, toasted, mild chocolate. Medium, prickly carbonation, fine light and mild oily palate. Flavour is sweet,caramel, lightly toasted, a hint of chocolate. Rather sweet and malty overall. Fairly vinious, light strawberry. Okay doppelbock.

Clear redbrown with a small head. Aroma heavy malty (caramel, fruity, roasted). Flavor moderate+ sweet, light to medium bitter. Body medium to full, soft carbonated, some alcohol felt. Nice.

Bottle brom BierBayern. Lovely ruby, not much of a nose. Loads of malt, sweet, rather sticky. Some alcohol warming. A little alcohol warming in the background Lively carbonation.

Stark karbonisierter Antrunk, in dem das Malz fast untergeht. Schlußendlich kommt es hervor, schwächt aber bereits im Mittelteil wieder ab und hinterlässt eine erkennbare klebrige Note. Wenig vollmundig, für einen Doppelbock zu mild. Erst spät kehrt das Malz voller, dafür zu süß zurück, erneut klebrig, nicht überzeugend, da wenigwürzig. Naja... 12/8/7/9/9/9

Very Bocky aroma with lots of strong Baltic Lager alcohol and some dissolvent added. Flavour is strong mixture of Bock and alcohol. I don’t dig this.

Clear medium to dark amber color with a large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, beige head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, dried fruit, malt, light alcohol. Flavor is light heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long duration, caramel. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft, finish feel is light alcoholic. [20110326]
