Bottled (From bierzwerg.de). Amber colour, small brown head. Aroma is toffee, nuts, some mild toasted wooden notes as well as some mild herbal/mild spicy notes. Flavour is fruity, mild toasted wood, some nuts and alight smoked wet wooden notes. Balanced and nice.

It’s brown with a huge, creamy head. The aroma has notes of caramel, roasted malt, burnt sugar and a touch of syrup. The flavor has a moderate sweetness and notes of caramel, burnt sugar, roasted malt, a little dark syrup and licorice - a very nice dunkel.

Light brown, minimal head. Aroma is sweet: cookies, wheat, caramel. Taste is roasted, wheaty and malty. Biterness of hay, a bit roasted and bread. The main character is the sweetness which goes from roasted malt to hay. Very good dunkel.

Ins Glas ergießt sich ein dunkelbraunes Bier mit geringer aber schönen Schaumkrone. Geruch leicht röstmalzig, Karamell, minimal würzig.
Geschmack angenehm röstmalzig, würzig, gering schokoladig.

Deep red-amber color, small beige head. Caramel, yeasty barnyardish notes ("fermentation gases"). Medium-bodied. Malty with chocolate/coffee and caramel, light grassy-woody hoppyness. Taste is pleasant, aroma slightly disturbing at first. Good dunkel anyway.

Thank you, Julia Dubowy, for bringing this back from Germany. Hazy dark ruby amber with an ivory head that has good retention, swirls of lace that run back into the glass. Aroma is understated. Taste is toasted caramel malt that grows through the palate until it is pushed aside by carbonation fizz and light bittering. Malt re-emerges at the finish. Not a big deal, but quite drinkable., and enjoyable with a spicy meal.

Bottle from quack-duck. A brown ale with good creamy head. This beer has good caramel and toasted notes, even small chocolate ones, it is near a schwartzbier. Good and creamy with a nice hopy finish, interesting.

Clear medium to dark orange amber color with a average to large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, light beige head. Aroma is moderate to light light heavy malty, caramel, nutty, light roasted malt. Flavor is moderate to light light heavy sweet and bitter with a average to long duration, dusty, caramel - roasted, burnt caramel notes. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to lively.

Bottle. Light to moderate malt notes of roasted and caramel, light herbs and dough for the hops and yeast, with brown sugar and fig in the background. Head is small, fizzy, off-white with no lacing and is fully diminishing. Color is clear rusty brown. Flavor starts lightly sweet and acidic, then finishes lightly sweet and acidic and faintly bitter. Palate is on the lighter side of medium, watery yet smooth and has a lively carbonation. Nothing outstanding in this Dunkel, but it’s absolutely true to style and is very easy to drink.

Slender swing-top by 20.10.2012. Nose is a little stale, earth toffee and faint roast, faint fruit. Ruby body is dark with a slight haze, loud tan head. Maltiness comes out much better in the mouth, with a very pretty swash of nuttiness, light mocha leaning toward wood, with restrained but succulent fruit. Only lightly sweet, touch of hop oil and even tang under that, but not bitter. Smooth full body is just right. I venture to call it elegant.
