COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Unfiltriertes dunkles Lagerbier
Rein untergärige Bierhefe
Malzig, karamellartiger Geschmack mit leichten Röstaromen
Hauptgärung im offenen Gärbottich; Reifung in liegenden Lagertanks
Gebraut nach dem Rezept unseres Braumeisters und Biersommeliers Markus Lohner aus Truchtlaching

Bottle. Light to moderate malt notes of roasted and caramel, light herbs and dough for the hops and yeast, with brown sugar and fig in the background. Head is small, fizzy, off-white with no lacing and is fully diminishing. Color is clear rusty brown. Flavor starts lightly sweet and acidic, then finishes lightly sweet and acidic and faintly bitter. Palate is on the lighter side of medium, watery yet smooth and has a lively carbonation. Nothing outstanding in this Dunkel, but it’s absolutely true to style and is very easy to drink.

Bottle from Bierzwerg!
Slight gushing. Pours dark ruby red with high, soapy, short-lasting head. Smell is dark fruits, roasted malts and chocolate. Starts sweetish malty with lots of caramel and some dark fruits (plum). Middle part has some chocolate malts, paired with roasted malts and some caramel. Goes into a sweet caramelly finish with some coffee and roasted malts.

Bottle traded with Quack-Duck. Rather typical dunkel aroma. Caramel, dark bread, somenotes of raisins and chocolate, very shy roasted hints. The taste is unexpectedly dry, tart, with a light body and a rather strong bitterness. Flavourwise this is chocolate upfront with some roast in the finish. Refreshing but I’d prefer it more chewy.

12,11,10,11,9,11 - 10,85 - 26/2

Thank you, Julia Dubowy, for bringing this back from Germany. Hazy dark ruby amber with an ivory head that has good retention, swirls of lace that run back into the glass. Aroma is understated. Taste is toasted caramel malt that grows through the palate until it is pushed aside by carbonation fizz and light bittering. Malt re-emerges at the finish. Not a big deal, but quite drinkable., and enjoyable with a spicy meal.

It’s brown with a huge, creamy head. The aroma has notes of caramel, roasted malt, burnt sugar and a touch of syrup. The flavor has a moderate sweetness and notes of caramel, burnt sugar, roasted malt, a little dark syrup and licorice - a very nice dunkel.
