Golden pour. Big white head. Lacing. Big citrus hop note. Malty up front quickly followed up with bitter grapefruit. Bitter and dry finish. Pretty good. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Thank you, Norbert Dubowy for bringing this home from Germany. Clear light brass color with a rough sea of a head - 2" that slosh up the side of the glass, lots of rocky wave peaks, lasting for the entire drink. Serpentine streaks of lace. Taste is light malt infused with grapefruit that grows as it moves across the palate, finally finishing with lingering malt. No big deal as far as complexity is concerned, but a highly satisfying drink, with or without food. Too bad Americans can’t find it here.

500 ml flip-top bottle from Wasana’s in Germany. I am not much of a Pale Ale or IPA fan but here goes. Pours a cloudly gold color with a full white head. Aroma is citrus, pine and fruit. Taste is much the same and too my surprise mellow and smooth. Palate has a slight dry-pine twang at the end but over all a really good beer.

UPDATED: MAR 8, 2013 50cl bottles. Fliptop bottle. The Bavarian PA in the mighty Weißbier bottle. Pours a cloudy speckled orange with yeasty impurities floating on the nice milky head. Powerful yeast at work, offene Bottichgärung/open cask fermenting is useful info on the label. Nice, confident Bavarian take on the style. - Malt profile and yeast are very reminiscent of Schneider Weisse Tap 4 and 5, hops are a mixed bag: distinct burnt rubber tire aroma (someone tell me which US hop does that? The Hopfenstopfer quad-hopped IPA also uses it..), balanced out by more drinkable dry hops. More peach and apple peel than citrus zest. light and drinkable, unlike their wallop of an IPA. Nice to see a confident German version of a PA, not a servile copy of the style.

50 cl bottle @ home, BBE 14.07.2013
Aroma is a bit odd and stuffy with sweetish fruits, berries, caramel and gooseberry bush. Flavour has vanilla, gooseberry bush, some nettles and apricot. Watery and a bit odd but quite frefreshing.

UPDATED: APR 4, 2013 Cloudy orange with a good white head. Really good hoppy aroma. Really fruity hops, peach, pear... In mouth is medium bitter and medium sweet. More fruits and some grass. In the end of the bottle it gets little bit metalic but it continue being a really good pale ale.
