Das Truchtlinger Bier vom 1. Tag. Einfach was Guads!

Copenhagen 23/9 2015. 50 cl bottle from Meny. A stag on the label to communicate that this beer truly is "Wilderer Weisse". Pours hazy reddish brown with off-white head. Aroma of sour berries, citrus fruit and currants. Medium carbonation and watery palate. Flavour is sweet fruit follows by a rather bitter lingering aftertaste. A bit heavy on the bitter side with only subdued sweetness. More "Wilderer" than "Weisse".

Looks like a Dunkelweizen, just the head is a bit too small. Aroma is also the usual Dunkelweizen aroma. Taste is heavy on the bananas, but solid, and finally some cloves there! Becomes too boring towards the end. Low carbonation. Okay.

It pours hazy amber with golden highlights; the head is off white and foamy. The aroma has notes of; toffee, leather, and toast. The taste is light sweet and lightly bitter; there are notes of: cereal, orange zest, pepper, and sweet yeast. The palate is medium light bodied and has medium carbonation, with a medium finish. Overall, it’s pleasant.

50cl fliptop bb11/2014. Aromas of browned, ripe banana and other maturing autumn fruit left in a corner bowl. Taste is along those lines, straying off the banana theme towards baked apple and peach on a less-then-fresh palate. Some key elements all in place, something seems off with the total picture for a Dunkelweizen though - not an immediate favourite.
