Das Truchtlinger Bier vom 1. Tag. Einfach was Guads!

50cl fliptop bb11/2014. Aromas of browned, ripe banana and other maturing autumn fruit left in a corner bowl. Taste is along those lines, straying off the banana theme towards baked apple and peach on a less-then-fresh palate. Some key elements all in place, something seems off with the total picture for a Dunkelweizen though - not an immediate favourite.

Bottle, with many thanks to Quack-Duck. Quite aggressive and straight forward for a weizenbier. Yeast, malt and spices in the aroma, with nutmeg leading the way and clove following together with vanilla. The caramelly nuttiness of the malts seems to be a logical supplement. The taste is sweet at the beginninhg from the caramelly and nutty malts, countered by a subtle astringency which is followed by a spicy and peppery finish. Rather full body while the taste renders it refreshing. Unconventional, skillfully executed wheat beer.
