COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Released on Friday 3/18, a beer to benefit our friend Brit Antrim. The Craft Brewing world is more than just a fad of flavor. To those who are a part of it, craft brewers around the country and around the globe are a part of an extended but close family. Unlike our global industrial counterparts, we offer advice, share “secrets,” ingredients, techniques and advice willingly. We watch out for one another, which is why when one of us falls we all snap to attention to do whatever we can to help. Luckily, even in times of emergency, help often involves beer. Britt Antrim is one such friend. He’s brewed at Anderson Valley in California, Kona in Hawaii, and Great Divide in Colorado among other places. For the last several years he has been working at Celestial Seasonings in Boulder, Co, but we still love him even if he makes tea now. Last Fall he suffered a tragic, major spinal cord injury at work, and in the blink of an eye his world changed dramatically. Brit is confined to a motorized wheelchair and is currently at one of the leading spinal cord rehabilitation centers in the nation. Craft brewers around the country have been holding fundraisers and brewing beers to help support Britt and his wonderful wife, Tammi, and we are happy to contribute with ABLE I.P.A. Brewed with malt donated by the Country Malt Group, 100% Centennial hops donated by Roy Farms in Moxee, WA, and our house Belgian yeast strain, proceeds from the sale of this beer go directly to Britt and Tammi to help them continue to fight the good fight. So enjoy this awesome fruity hop bomb of an I.P.A. with the knowledge that you are making a difference for a friend.

A: The beer pours a cloudy golden color with a finger of white head. S: Quite a substantial Belgian yeast aroma to this. Still, the citrus notes from the hops come through, as does a slight fruity sweetness. There is a bit of pepper as well as a few other spices. T: The flavor is quite similar. Citrusy with some sweet apple flavor. A bit of pine hop flavor and bitterness. Mildly spicy with more black pepper and perhaps a touch of coriander. Some bready sweetness to it as well. M: Medium bodied with medium carbonation O: Pretty good Belgian IPA (not always a well done style). The pepper flavor was a bit too strong for me, though.

Lubiere (6988) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - MAY 7, 2011
A golden amber IPA with a thin lacing off white head. A super fragrant aroma of grapefruits drizzelled with honey, floral hops, creamy, perfumey, quite nice. In mouth, a smooth silky and icy mouthfeel, British hops with light lingering bitterness, nice and balanced. On tap at brewpub, April 17 2011.
