COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Well balanced, medium-bodied, with a deep amber-red color, its complex palate covers all the bases. A maltycaramel sweetness is followed by notes of chocolate and a dry, slightly roasty finish, complimented by a touch of fruity, spicy hops.

Delirium (563) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - JUL 19, 2006
Draught. The glass is quite dark amber with a small white head. Aroma is mostly malty, slightly sweet and with noticeable smokiness. Flavor is similar, but with more pronounced smokiness and a bit of bitterness. Not really sure what to make of this; unusual for an amber ale, but on the whole it’s pretty good.

Above average amber (style?) ale. Very sweet upfront with a good show of malt. Gentle transition to a hoopy snap.

rederic (2269) - montréal, Quebec, CANADA - MAY 10, 2006
Sampled at the brewpub, dark copper color with some reddish highlights, and a tan-colored head, roasted and caramel malt notes, hint of nuttiness in the aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with a roasted malt, chocolatey accent, dark dried fruits of figs, dates leading towards a sweet malt and slight dry finish.

En fût au Cambridge Brewing Co., Cambridge, MA. Robe brune claire surmontée d’une mousse blanche en dentelle qui s’estompe. Arômes légers de malt et de caramel. Saveurs de malt, de sucre et de torréfié.

darker then i expected when poured ...deep ruby color. nose of mostly malty overtones. flavor continues with a bit of sweet rock candy toffe malt bit going on. subtle infusion of ballsy hops to push a bit of fruit. better then i thought it would be.

Cambridge seems to have some problems with classifying their beers. Definitely not your typical amber. Very dark, almost tough to distinguish it from much darker beers, with a thick, resilient head. Intense aroma and flavor. Chocolate, caramel, light fruitiness and smoky flavors accompanied by a strong, hoppy finish. Pretty good, I thought.

duff (5483) - St, Margarets, Greater London, ENGLAND - AUG 27, 2005
Tap@Cambridge Brewing, Cambridge, Ma. Toffee/caramel, brown sugar, some hops in the finish, too sweet i think, uncomplex.

Tap in Cambridge: brownish red color. Caramel dominates the aroma, it’s solid. Finishes fairly sweet with more caramel flavoring. Simple and enjoyable.
